Dave, 31, signed for City in October 2019 after leaving National League side Ebbsfleet United.

The defender started his career with home town Club Aldershot Town and made over 100 appearances for the Shots from 2004 to 2010, playing in the Vanarama National League and helping them win promotion to Sky Bet League Two. He also spent time out on-loan at Chertsey Town, Staines Town and Salisbury City during his time with Aldershot.

After leaving Aldershot, Winfield signed for then League Two side Wycombe Wanderers where he won another promotion, this time to League One in his debut season with the Chairboys.

He then signed for Shrewsbury Town in 2013 where he stayed for one season as Salop were relegated from League One. He signed for then League Two side York City at the end of the 2013/14 season after coming to an agreement with Shrewsbury to cancel his contract early.

He made 51 appearances for the Minstermen, also spending a short spell out on loan at fellow League Two rivals AFC Wimbledon during the 2014/15 season, where he made 7 appearances.

Upon leaving York at the end of the 2015/16 season, he signed for then National League South side Ebbsfleet United. He captained the Fleet to the National League South Playoff Final that season and ultimately scored the winning goal against ourselves in the 76th minute to win the game and send Ebbsfleet to the National League.

In total Dave made just under 100 appearances for the Fleet where he guided them to National League safety 2 seasons in-a-row, coming close to promotion to Sky Bet League Two in their debut season, coming up short in the Playoff Semi-Final against Tranmere Rovers.

His honours include the Conference Premier (now National League) & Conference League Cup (Abolished in 2009) both in the 2007/08 season with Aldershot Town, third-place promotion in 2010/11 with Wycombe Wanderers, National League South Playoffs in 2017 with Ebbsfleet United and finally Clubman of the Year in 2016 with York City.
