1. Carl Pentney

Carl returned to Chelmsford City for a 4th spell in May 2019 after leaving National League side Maidenhead United.

Pentney from Colchester, Essex started his career with Leicester City and made one appearance for the Foxes during the 2008/09 season with the Club in League One. During his time with Leicester he had loan spells with York City, Fisher Athletic, Woking and Leamington.

Upon leaving Leicester City, he went on to sign for hometown outfit Colchester United in August 2010, initially on a non-contract basis before signing a 1-year contract in September. He joined Bath City on loan for two months before signing for Chelmsford City for the first time on loan for the remainder of the 2010/11 season, making 13 appearances.

He returned to Chelmsford the following season on a one-month loan in September 2011 and went on to make 5 appearances before returning to the U's, going back out on loan to Hayes & Yeading in the November.

Pentney left Colchester midway through the 2012/13 season and signed for Bishop's Stortford on a permanent basis until the end of the campaign, after initially joining the Blues on loan.

After leaving Stortford, he returned to Chelmsford City for a 3rd spell at the beginning of the 2013/14 season and was the No. 1 choice between the sticks throughout the entire season, making 35 appearances. He also helped the Clarets avoid relegation that season.

Carl joined Essex rivals Braintree Town for a brief spell at the beginning of the 2014/15 season, but only made two appearances. He signed for Maidenhead United for the 2015/16 season and went on to stay for 4 year and was a part of the squad that gained promotion to the National League in 2017.

He went on to help the Magpies stay in the top division of Non-League for two seasons before departing after the end of the 2018/19 season. He made a total of 190 appearances for Maidenhead.
