The Club is saddened to hear of the passing of Club legend Bobby Smith.

Born in Barnsley on 20th April 1941 he joined City in the summer of 1963 from Barnsley, for whom he had made 3 first team appearances, and went on to make 443 games for the Club during a 10-year spell at New Writtle Street. Only Tony Butcher, Derek Tiffin, Len Tomkins and Colin Johnson have played more games for the Club.

Released in the summer of 1963 he joined Bexley United and later had a spell on the coaching staff at City.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Bobby's family at this difficult time.
