Chelmsford Clarets v Southend B
Very one-sided match with clarets dominating all game.
Mark scored the first goal, ball from Peter
Mistake by defence left Peter with a clear shot on goal, saved by goalie but as it bounced it tricked in corner.
Another mistake by defence and a pass from Mark for Peter to score.
2 solo efforts from Colin saved by keeper, the Southend keeper was having a great game despite the score.
Great back pass from Colin for Peter to score forth.
Peter hit a blaster in front of goal but brilliant save.
Then Gary put one away neatly in the corner, he said after he couldn’t find anyone to pass to so thought he would have a shot for a change!
Free kick from Mark, passed back to Colin back to Mark but he hit post
Peter gets another as their marking falls down.
Peter hits the bar that then takes out the keeper with the rebound.
Final kick was a shot from Southend saved by Bill, he never had to do much.
Blues v Wakering
Pretty physical on Wakefield side, they are a win at all costs team.
Player left clear on middle and blasted one, Alan saved it but it then bobbled in
Bill did a great job at right back.
David came on for Jeremy
Player ran half the pitch off the ball into space, he was passed the ball and scores. Alan got a hand again.
Chris got the ball, great pass to Kevan in the middle, great pass to David up front, good shot saved by keeper.
Third goal to Wakering
Clarets v Wakering
Solo run by Colin shot wide
Shot by the their no 10 great save by Bill
David had 2 good long shots, but but not quite on target.
H t 0-0
Mistake in defence followed by a great shot well saved by Bill
Very tight game, but Wakering got 2 deserved blue card for players running.
But we didn’t take advantage of the extra players.
Gary did a good tidy up at the back
Blues v Southend B
Shot from Chris hit bar.
Loose pass out lets Southend score
Chris hits the side netting
Long pass to Kevan shot wide
Jeremy came on for David
Jeremy did several runs down the left, but their defence was quite good
Pass from Chris to David. Shoot wide
Back pass from Chris Kevin over the bar
I think this was a missed opportunity as Blues were definitely the better team.
Clarets v EWF
Even game 0-0
(I was watching the Blues match at same time)
Blues v Southend A
Their no 19 keeps getting clear. Shot by post
Chris to Kevan, back to Chris but shot wide
Chris and a Southend player blue carded for elbowing each other. To be fair the Southend player did it 4 times but then Chris gave him one back. And that was what the referee saw.
Jim solid at the back.
Clarets v Southend A
Quite a few passes then Mark half-hearted shot, it bounced twice then bobbled in the corner
Mistake by Southend defence left Peter in front of goal with ball, 2-0.
Great passing all players involved, last pass to Peter, into keepers’ arms
Good attack from Southend, player left with clear shot wide of post
Good pass from Gary to Mark who beat defender but saved for a corner
Gary in loads of space, pass from Peter, passed to Mark shot saved.
Blues v Clacton Knights 0-0
Played well just could hit the net.
Chairman and only supporter!
Well a tough day at the office for the Chelmsford City o60’ ‘blues’ in the Essex League. Well done to Alan for playing keeper at the last minute and to Dave for stepping in when we were short. Alan made some important saves, Bill and Jim were disciplined at the back. Thanks to Jeremy and Dave for alternating halves.
We played well against Wakering and would have done better than the 3-0 score line had the referee been sharper. The 1-0 defeat to Southend B was disappointing, despite our pre match chat we morphed into playing their rather shapeless football. We bounced back against Southend A and Clacton with two strong 0-0 draws. Kevin did a good job in midfield and Jeremy had some nice play out on the wing. It was always going to be a tough morning, but the team played with pride and conviction . Also well done to the Chelmsford City ‘Clarets’ who won two and drew 2 to get back on track in the Essex league ⚽️. Well done everyone.
