Smith Joins the Clarets

By Adam May

City welcomes Christian Smith, who becomes Dean Holdsworth's fourth signing since taking the reins at Melbourne Park, writes Adam May.

The box-to-box midfielder has vast experience at a number of clubs, most notably with Wrexham, Barrow, Cylde and, most recently, AFC Telford. Smith also won promotion from the Northern Premier League with Chester when the North-West side were crowned champions in 2011–12.

The Crewe born 25-year-old arrives at Chelmsford along with five other names that Holdsworth has signed up for the 2013/14 campaign, including new signings Tom Davis, Danny Webb and Nicky Nicolau, as well as Mark Haines and Robbie Edmans who have extended their stay with the Clarets.

Welcome to the club, Christian!
