Smith Joins the Clarets

City welcomes Christian Smith, who becomes Dean Holdsworth's fourth signing since taking the reins at Melbourne Park, writes Adam May.

The box-to-box midfielder has vast experience at a number of clubs, most notably with Wrexham, Barrow, Cylde and, most recently, AFC Telford. Smith also won promotion from the Northern Premier League with Chester when the North-West side were crowned champions in 2011–12.

The Crewe born 25-year-old arrives at Chelmsford along with five other names that Holdsworth has signed up for the 2013/14 campaign, including new signings Tom Davis, Danny Webb and Nicky Nicolau, as well as Mark Haines and Robbie Edmans who have extended their stay with the Clarets.
