Rod Stringer: "I think the boys are very hungry to get going"

By Chris Berry

Manager, Rod Stringer, caught up with ClaretsTV to preview this weekend's fixture away to Eastbourne Borough.

“The positive for us is that we're in good form, so let's hope that we can continue that on Saturday.” Rod Stringer, Manager

When asked what test he was expecting, Rod responded:

"It'll be a tough game. It's always awkward down there with the 3G, although it's a decent pitch.

"The new Gaffer (Mark McGhee) has come in, he's very experienced and I should imagine he'll have them well organised.

"We're expecting that we're going to have to try and break them down. I think they'll probably try to counter attack us.

"Sometimes you have to score early and that's what we'll be looking to do and we'll give it our best shot.

"After the disappointment on Tuesday, I think the boys are very hungry to get going.

"The positive for us is that we're in good form, so let's hope that we can continue that on Saturday.

On competition between Joe Anderson and Chris Gregan at left-back:

"We've got competition all round and that's what we need to have.

"Joe's had a good season for us. Chris Gregan's gone away [on dual-reg with Bishop's Stortford] and has done exceptionally well.

"I thought he [Chris] was tremendous on Saturday. He's in contention, the same as everybody else and he'll be here until the end of the season."
