“We want to get this cup back to Club. It's one that we at Chelmsford respect and one want to see back on our mantle piece.”
The Clarets will be competing in their third BBC Essex Senior Cup Final in a row on Tuesday night as they look to reclaim the trophy after losing out to Billericay Town last year.
City most recently won this competition in 2017, winning 1-0 over this years' opponents, East Thurrock United. Former striker Chris Dickson scored the only goal of the game that night.
Chelmsford will be without goalkeeper Harry Wright, midfielder Billy Knott and striker Lamar Reynolds, due to all three being ineligible for selection in this competition after signing for the Club after the Semi-Final.
Defender, Mickey Spillane and midfielder, Tom Wraight are both extremely doubtful; whilst Jordan Chiedozie (hamstring) remains out.
Manager, Rod Stringer said:
"We want to get back to winning ways" he said. "It will be a tough game.
"We want to get this cup back to Club. It's one that we at Chelmsford respect and one want to see back on our mantle piece. It's one that we really want to try and win.
"[All of our remaining games] are cup finals" he continued. "We obviously have a cup final on Tuesday and another one on Saturday [vs Woking] and so on. The only difference is the one on Tuesday is if you win, you get a bit of silverware at the end of it.
"If you asked me would I swap that and get some silverware by achieving promotion at the end of the season, then obviously I'd take that. That is, however, down to myself and Nick.
