Chiedozie becomes a Claret

4 months ago By Matt Lee

Chelmsford City Football Club are delighted to have agreed terms with winger Jordan Chiedozie.

“Jordan Chiedozie scored a good goal today [against Harlow Town]. He’ll be a good acquisition as he gives us something different to what we already have.” Rod Stringer

The 23-year-old began his career as a Bournemouth youngster, enjoying spells on-loan with Dorchester Town, AFC Totton and Poole Town.

Having impressed during two spells with Poole Town, the former Cherries trainee signed permanently at Poole before moving to Concord Rangers in August 2014.

Chiedozie’s prolific goalscoring record at the Aspect Arena - seven goals in 14 matches - saw the winger sign an 18-month deal with Sky Bet League Two outfit Cambridge United in November.

With first-team chances limited at the Abbey Stadium, Chiedozie went on-loan to Dartford and Braintree Town before signing for Boreham Wood following his release from Cambridge United.

The 5ft 11in re-signed for Concord Rangers in September 2016 where he scored twelve goals in 25 appearances before moving to Margate for the 2017-18 season.

Last season Chiedozie scored 29 goals in 39 appearances for The Gate, and City boss Rod Stringer hopes that the forward will add a different element to the Clarets’ front-line.

“Jordan Chiedozie scored a good goal today [against Harlow Town]. He’ll be a good acquisition as he gives us something different to what we already have.” Stringer said to the Club Website.

“We have Rhys Murphy and Scott Fenwick who both scored today, Alex Akrofi is out injured at the minute.

“We are getting there. We are looking strong. We have had to use so many trialists this year simply because of the injury crisis we have got.

“Fortunately they are not bad injuries but even a niggle this time of the season, you have to give it the respect it needs and perhaps they are three or four week injuries.”

All at Chelmsford City Football Club look forward to welcoming Jordan to the Melbourne Community Stadium.
