PEN PICTURES - MIDFIELDERS
Jeff MINTON – Possibly the best known of the current City squad. The 33 years old stylish midfielder followed Manager Jeff King from Canvey Island for whom he had signed in 2002 helping them to win the Ryman League Premier Division championship in 2003-2004. During a 10 year league career he played for Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton and Hove Albion, Port Vale, Rotherham United and Leyton Orient making just over 250 appearances. Was the club’s leading goalscorer last season with 23 goals.
Bertie BRAYLEY – Much travelled midfielder/striker who signed for City in the summer of 2007 after an excellent pre season that saw him score a number of spectacular goals. Originally with West Ham he joined Queens Park Rangers in August 2000 and moved on to Swindon Town in August 2001 making 7 substitute appearances for the Wiltshire club. Is 26 years of age. His previous clubs include, Eastleigh, Farnborough Town, Aldershot Town, Canvey Island, Margate, Braintree Town, Hornchurch and Thurrock.
Jon KEELING – 31 years old left sided midfielder who joined City in the summer of 2007 having spent last season with Gravesend and Northfleet. Can number Tilbury, Thurrock, Bishops Stortford, Hornchurch and Canvey Island amongst his previousclubs. Is in his second spell for the club having been with City in the mid 1990’s although he failed to make a first team appearance.
Stuart AINSLEY – Aged 19 years he joined Chelmsford upon his release from the Ipswich Town academy in the summer of 2006. An attacking and stylish left full back he can also play in mid field. He made 34 appearances for the club last season.
