Jeff King and his management staff, Glenn Pennyfather, Brian Horne, Micky Bright and Ken Steggles, have ventured across Essex from a successful Canvey Island outfit to help guide City to the pinnacle of non-league football and beyond, with the bonus of some generous financial backing also coming from various sponsors keen to be part of the road to success.

King led Canvey from Essex Senior League obscurity to become an established Nationwide Conference National force in little over ten years and now looks forward to a new challenge, finding the potential of Chelmsford City the best option to satisfy his ambitions. Some of his champagne moments with the Gulls were on T.V. in the F.A. Cup Rounds Proper and he’ll be hoping to bring some of that magic with him to Melbourne.

With hundreds of Football League appearances under his belt, former Ipswich Town and Southend United player Glenn Pennyfather is the ideal Assistant Manager for Jeff and the pair have enjoyed a triumphant time together to date.
