A full Match Report will appear here shortly..... Two hotly-disputed goals saw Chelmsford City lose top spot after Bromley came back from a goal down at the break to win courtesy of substitute Kenny Kennedy’s last-minute finish. Mario Noto was dismissed for the Clarets in the second half in a match clouded with controversy after the Referee ruled-out then awarded Bromley’s first goal from an indirect free-kick and allowed their second to stand despite an obvious foul on Chelmsford goalkeeper Richard McKinney. It was an afternoon to forget for the visitors, who had named a similar side that beat A.F.C. Wimbledon in midweek. Jay Conroy returned at right back in place of the injured Chris Duffy who was fit enough to assume a place on the bench. The first half was fairly even, with Ricky Holmes the main threat to the host with a series of tricky runs on the right wing eventually culminating in him opening the scoring a minute before the break. Jeff Minton’s clever ball put him within sight of ‘keeper Andy Walker and he lifted the ball over him before ensuring it finished in the back of the net from close range. After half time the turning point arrived on 62 minutes. McKinney was adjudged to have held onto his goal kick for too long and an indirect free-kick was awarded to Bromley as a result. A split second before Barry Moore’s shot entered the goal, however, Referee Frank Meilack blew his whistle due to encroachment by the defensive wall. Much to the disbelief of the 911 spectators, he then conversed with his Assistant and awarded the goal. Tempers boiled-over a few minutes later, with Mario Noto receiving a second yellow card for dissent aimed at the man in black but, despite having only ten men, Chelmsford battled-on and looked the more likely to find a winner, with Minton and Kezie Ibe going close. Yet this wasn’t to be their day as a deep delivery from the right was dropped by McKinney and, after he was knocked over, substitute Kenny Kennedy was able to find the net seconds before the end.
